So you're done with the ruins, and psyched to move on to the next part of the game. Well it's going to involve lots more leveling up, lots and lots of walking around, and upgrades of armor and weapons!

So we're off and running. Say good bye to the eastern part of the map, as you will never venture back to good old Neopia City.

Follow the Main Map, sneaking, to the western part of the land, The Swamps. Switch to hunting. You're going to fight through the swamps, which should be beyond easy, in fact if you find you're getting zero XP from these enemies you can switch back to sneaking, but I like to hunt through the swamp as I head to Swamp Edge City. The enemies will drop potions, which you may need to restock on, and hey, it's kind of fun to beat up on weaklings!

Okay so you're in Swamp Edge City. Talk to the two NPC's here. They are both here to give you armor upgrades! The hunk of junk' is actually the Dawnshine Generator Shield, in case you're wondering. Both of these types of armor are 10 point armor, and are created equal, with no special abilities. Whichever you choose is fine, but it's usually easier to find the items required for the Shield. Here's what you'll need:

  • Dawnshine Generator Shield - Spider Leg, Spider Pincer, Cobra Fang, and Iguana Eye .
  • Sorcerous Robe - Giant Spider Blood, Cobra Venom, Iguana Spit, Crystallized Mummy Blood.

So head down to the desert and fight the monsters for the items. The monsters here are no problem for you at this point, as you should be level 26 already, and these monsters are well below that. Unless you're fighting a lot I doubt you'll gain a level here, so I'll keep saying you're level 26. While you're here, go down a little bit south of the desert and kill a few of these hill monsters. One of them will drop a carved oaken staff. You'll need it and it's easier to get it now, instead of later.

Now that you've got your items, head back to Swamp Edge City and get your 10 point armor. Equip it. Good.

Back to dungeon crawling...

Levels 26-32

Okay I've lumped all these levels together, and they are all the levels you'll have to go through during this Temple. The Temple is only 2 levels though, so I guess that's a releif! Okay so first, look at the Map. Gasp In Horror. Return to my Guide. Here we go...

Temple Of Roo - Level One

As you've already looked at the map, you can see there are probably a few paths you can take to get to the next level of the Temple. I recommend taking the longest route possible, fighting the whole way, and not descending to the next level until you're at level 30, or quite close to reaching it.

Now for the details. As you get into the cave you'll see Erick, hanging out near the entrance of the Temple. He is eventually going to make you an extremely awesome weapon! The Life Staff.... First though, He is going to babble about Jewels of Power, and tell you to go ask Leirobas in Swamp Edge City about them. You could do this but don't, as I am going to tell you exactly what you'll need for the weapon upgrade, and you almost have everything already anyway!

Move on, fighting through the Temple. Lots of different enemies to choose from, and they aren't pushovers. But as you level up, they will become so. Again this is one HUGE map, requiring very little aimless wandering to level up. I generally choose to head right, go down a bit, boomerang around the water areas in the middle, ending up back on the right side, before heading down (all the way to the bottom of the map), left and back up to the descent into the next level. This ensures leveling up without having to just wander in a circle, and hey, you can say you thoroughly explored this level! As you head toward the exit into the next level of dungeon, be sure to get a Piece of Living Crystal off of one of the Crystal Golems. Shouldn't be too hard, but you're only going to find this type of monster in this area. There will be a few at the start of the next level too, but in less abundance.

Okay so you are at level 30 right? Okay you're close, and you're bored. Go ahead and head down into the Next level.

Temple Of Roo - Level 2

This is the level The Archmagus of Roo is on. But, even if you wanted to, you can't get to him yet. First of all you're too weak, secondly, it's another PUZZLE ~ Yay! (That was a joke, strangefire420 says, with the utmost seriousness)

There's a note on the floor as you enter this level, read it if you like, or just use the map. If this site doesn't have it up yet, as always I recommend Neoquestmaps.com.

So, you've got to go through each room in a specific order to get to the next, ultimately reaching the Archmagus in the last room. Here we go.

You're going to need to level up at least twice before you get to Roo himself. You *can* take him out at level 31, but you know my strategy involves NOT risking death right? LOL

Fortunately, leveling up in this area is not only easy, but happens all by itself, as you are going to be getting into lots of fights! Each room you enter in this puzzle has it's own mini-mini-mini-boss' however, they aren't just sitting ducks like the rest of the bosses, they are more like enemies. So you've got to enter each room, and walk around a bunch until you get attacked by the boss of that room. You'll be able to tell pretty easily which monster it is just from sight, and oh look! They give you a key! LOL. Keep in mind that the enemies get harder and harder in each room, as always. However in this level, the creatures OUTSIDE the rooms, pretty much remain the same. The only item you MUST have from these enemies by the time you are done is an emerald.

Hopefully you're stocking up on your potions and only using the weaker ones if you have to between battles. You will need a few of the stronger potions for The Boss, The Archmagus of Roo. Make sure you're at full hp, level 32, and go get him!

He is one serious opponent, so watch out. He can stun for 3 rounds, he can heal, he can cast fire and ice, this Boss does it all! This battle may be slightly tedious, as he keeps healing, etc. Just keeping hammering away, taking your potions, and he'll be dust! Hopefully you'll be thanking me at this point for making you have fortitude' because THAT is the skill that makes you able to resist' stuns, and magical blasts. Congratulations on the success of this battle!

Once you've defeated Roo, it's time for some legwork to get your next weapon. First take the teleporter to the beginning of the Cave, and speak with Erick, who'll clear up that Clouded Gem you got from the Archmagus. Then skip out of there. Jog on up to Swamp Edge City again. Sneak there, as it's a waste now to fight anything in your path. Talk to Leirobas, who treats you like you're beneath him, and says he won't tell you about the Jewels of Power unless you get him a Living Crystal, Well, hmph you just so happen to have one don't you?? *grin* Give it to him!!

Now He'll make you a special Jewel of Power, to use for your new weapon. Now, keep in mind that each Jewel will create a different wand, so choose wisely. Wisely means choose to make the Growing Jewel, Used for Life magic. J

Hand over That Tiny Beryl, from the Dank Caves, your last Glowing Stone, and the emerald, from the Temple of Roo. *poof* you now have your Growing Jewel.

Jog back to Erick in the Temple (working up a sweat yet??), and give him the Growing Jewel, Carved Oaken Staff, and the Coruscating Gem. He'll give the Gem back to you, along with - Ta Da!! The Life Staff!!

The Life Staff can heal you 100 hp in battle. It is castable, meaning you get to choose when you want it. It takes a while to recharge though, so make sure you cast it when appropriate. Personally, I always cast it in battle, if I don't really *need* to use it, I cast it towards the end of the battle so that I am always at full hp, ready for the next enemy!

As always, a Recap of your skills, you are now at Level 32 so they should look like this:

Shock Magic Life Magic Spectral Magic
Shock Weapons - 4 Life Weapons - 4 Spectral Weapons - 3
Disable - 4 Field Medic - 4 Evasion - 3
Fortitude - 4 Lifesteal - 4 Absorption - 2
Shockwave - 4 Resurrection - 0 Reflex - 2

You're wielding the Life Staff, and wearing either Sorcerous Robes or the Dawnshine Energy Shield.

You are now done with this segment! Pat yourself on the back, cheer yourself, have a drink, party... then settle in for some long battles and excitement as I lead you one step closer to the end of the game.. it isn't far now!!
